Story time: I remember I went to my best friends school dance (we went to different schools) and I was wearing a jumper. It wasn't really a revealing outfit because 1). I was in 6th grade and 2). I'm young and my mom knew what I liked and don't like. I am a shy person and the dance was crowded so I followed my friend around who were talking to me. My friend was talking to a boy and before I we left, the guy looked me up and down. I was so uncomfortable and I told my friend only for her to say he didn't. I thought of this story because it was kind of like the male gaze guys y'know? If you read this, thank you ♡♥︎♡

In my experience, what matters most is self-confidence. I have worn basic outfits and felt confident and got a lot of looks and men tried to get to know me and other times i have worn some nice dresses but i felt a little down that day and barely got any attention.

Off acale choice. Female gaze: total impersonation of a man in black leather & baggy male like huge shirt & baggy pants, was that a baseball cap?-hence invisible or off-putting. Black leather says back off. Typical in a city but not for a lot of woman & not so much out of town fashion. So extrapolating to non stunning women who dress to neither extreme & not on a big city street may be less extreme results. Wanna appear visible & approachable, go super femme. Want to be invisible or unapproachable, wear obviously masculine codes clothing. No doubt you walked different in both outfits too. Of course creepy guys saying and doing unwanted stuff or craning their necks is rude & that's why women don't do it. Guys, if she looks like this she is WAY out your league & especially if you're some random Joe on the sidewalk deluded enough to think she's available & might be interested in you.

I think the area of testing your theory is limited to your location the way the man reacted. East cost/Philly man are typically more aggressive when approaching or speaking to woman.
